This is the second of our two special guest appearances. Linda is here from Michigan and doing a wonderful work at the orphanage. She and her husband are planning to move down to Lily next year (or as the Lord allows..) to work with the adoption/administrative stuff as well as handy-man activities (I have heard that Gary is quite handy). There are more details to that move, but I´m afraid I´ll say something inaccurate. Anyway, she´s great. I picked her up Thursday night with a couple of the kids from the house and she was . All the older girls stayed up and welcomed her with yells and hugs. Man, if the Lord ever brings us back here, I hope the people here are that pumped to see us. Its obvious how much it means to the kids and staff to have people come... and then come again.
Okay, so this is a note from her:
I have officially become a true member of the orphanage ---christened by a demon-possessed white goat. While talking with Rosa and getting the welcome tour with building updates - I was knocked into the air and landed 5 feet away onto a cement block wall. Apparently that mean old goat has a way of catching his victims off guard. From what I´ve been told - he begins his charge about 20 ft away and WHAMM! Luckily(?) he hit me on my left hip where there is a little extra padding. (actually I could have been hit anywhere and probably survived. That extra chocolate I consume does serve a purpose!)
As I am writing this "note" down a small girl is crying for her "mommy". I don´t know how long she has been away from her or if she´s even seen her. It´s amazing the need everyone has for their mommy. The heartache is to hear the cries of these children for their mommy... perhaps hoping she would come and rescue them. But no one does. I wish their cry could be heard in the States. It says to "be still" in God´s Word. Is it so we could finally hear the cries of the children and give them a forever home?
Love you all,
Linda
*And an extra note to a son:*
Hey Charles - I am here - wish you were too so you could help me figure out how to butcher a goat. :)

Linda I can assure you that their cries ARE heard from this little corner in the States. We love you and miss you terribly, but will be there soon for another visit. Please give love to ALL of the kids from me and an extra special hug to our "little girls" and of course my new siblings. Merm and Lauren THANK YOU for being a little window into the world at Lily. We are praying for you. May God continue to bless your time there. See you all soon!
